In the past, most of our orders came in via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back into the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. These days, when orders are entered on this website, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.

One of the most time consuming parts of an appraisal is gathering the data. We spend quite a bit of time gathering the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. GMA Appraisal Group takes advantage of technology to close the gap once again.

We've learned that taking notes the standard way, using pencil and paper, generally takes longer since we we have to enter everything back in at the office. Don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an app created for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy outdated tape measure, we're seeing that more appraisers are beginning to use laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.

All of this technology ensures that the final report is as complete and accurate as possible, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. Our goal is to save you time and money.

At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Generally our clients are most comfortable with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to innovate how you receive your report with this website.

Ever lost a file that was sent to you? Or have you ever had an attachment blocked because of the file size? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too.  Whenever we send an appraisal, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.

GMA Appraisal Group simplifies things by using Digital Workfiles

It would probably be easier if appraisers could complete a report, deliver it and never worry about revisiting that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers need to keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.

Here again, GMA Appraisal Group uses all the technology at our disposal technology to improve service.
